I have a question...a concern...I am living in Decatur, GA and I am interested in learning more about Santeria/Lukumi/Orisha worship/Ocha....but I have been very discouraged by own situation. I have done some reading and would like to began meeting actual practitioners and get more understanding, but I am homeless and unemployed. I don't want to cause any disrespect by not being able to offer anything, but that is just the situation that I am in right now. Even so, I feel drawn to Santeria and eager to learn more about it and how I can get started. I am doing what I can (i.e. job searches, going back to school...) to try to better my present situation (homelessness), but I don't think that should stop me from following the spiritual path that is right for me. At the same time I understand that just as with organization funding is necessary.
What options are available to me? What steps can I take? Can I look to get involved now even though I have no money? Will it be disrespect to ask to learn but have nothing to offer in return? What should I do?
